  2. Cars and the transport industry, furniture, medical applications, clothing and construction are important users of Advanced Textile Materials. Expenditure on is higher in the field of Advanced Textile Materials than for 'conventional' textiles (reaching up to 8-10% of turnover, compared to the industrial average of 3-5%). Usually, Advanced Textile Materials are created in a close relationship between the producer and the consumer so as to ensure tailor-made solutions to specific user purposes. At present, the global market for Advanced Textile Materials is worth around US $ 127 billion (approx. € 97 billion) whereby Asia leads the world in terms of textile consumption with 8.5 million tonnes followed by the USA and Europe with 5.8 and 4.8 million tonnes respectively. Planned Activities: • Further integrating the cooperation between the cluster members. • Moving towards world-class products, using technical textiles as a core component. • Further developing cross-sectorial diversification by promoting the use of technical textiles in all relevant sectors. • Further developing the strategic vision of the TEXTILE2020 ESCPand emphasize the European added value. • Building on each partner’s strengths and develop complementary competencies. • Fostering matchmaking and export. • Further developing a common branding for the TEXTILE2020 ESCP. • Continuing to target emerging industries on leading-edge business solutions. • Pooling resources together. • Facilitating IPR sharing. • Establishing joint offices abroad. • Target Countries: • Brazil, Canada/USA, Tunisia/Morocco, Japan/South Korea, India ESCP Name PlannedActivities & Target Countries
