7. 5But the Jews were jealous, and taking some wicked men of the rabble, they formed a mob, set the city in an uproar, and attacked the house of Jason, seeking to bring them out to the crowd.

9. 6And when they could not find them, they dragged Jason and some of the brothers before the city authorities, shouting, “These men who have turned the world upside down have come here also,

21. 6And you became imitators of us and of the Lord, for you received the word in much affliction, with the joy of the Holy Spirit, 6และท่านก็ทำตามอย่างของเรา และขององค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้า โดยที่ท่านได้รับถ้อยคำนั้นด้วยความยากลำบากเป็นอันมาก แต่ท่านยังเปรมปรีดิ์โดยพระวิญญาณบริสุทธิ์

22. 7so that you became an example to all the believers in Macedonia and in Achaia. 7เพราะเหตุนั้นท่านจึงเป็นแบบอย่างแก่คนที่เชื่อแล้ว ในแคว้นมาซิโดเนียและแคว้นอาคายา

23. 8For not only has the word of the Lord sounded forth from you in Macedonia and Achaia, but your faith in God has gone forth everywhere, so that we need not say anything.

24. 8เพราะว่า พระวจนะขององค์พระผู้เป็นเจ้าได้เลื่องลือออกไปจากเธสะโลนิกา ไม่ใช่แต่ในแคว้นมาซิโดเนียและในแคว้นอาคายาเท่านั้น แต่ความเชื่อของท่านในพระเจ้าได้ลือไปทุกแห่งหน จนเราไม่จำเป็นต้องพูดอะไรอีก

25. 9For they themselves report concerning us the kind of reception we had among you, and how you turned to God from idols to serve the living and true God,

26. 9เพราะคนเหล่านั้นก็ได้รายงานเกี่ยวกับเราว่า เราได้รับการต้อนรับจากพวกท่านอย่างไร และกล่าวถึงการที่ท่านได้ละทิ้งรูปเคารพและหันมาหาพระเจ้า เพื่อรับใช้พระเจ้าผู้ทรงพระชนม์อยู่และเที่ยงแท้

29. 2But though we had already suffered and been shamefully treated at Philippi, as you know, we had boldness in our God to declare to you the gospel of God in the midst of much conflict.

31. 3For our appeal does not spring from error or impurity or any attempt to deceive, 3เพราะว่าคำเตือนสติของเรามิได้เกิดมาจากความคิดผิด หรือการโสโครกหรืออุบายใดๆ

32. 4but just as we have been approved by God to be entrusted with the gospel, so we speak, not to please man, but to please God who tests our hearts. 4แต่ว่าพระเจ้าทรงเห็นชอบที่จะมอบข่าวประเสริฐไว้กับเรา เราจึงประกาศไป ไม่ใช่เพื่อให้เป็นที่พอใจของมนุษย์ แต่ให้เป็นที่พอพระทัยของพระเจ้า ผู้ทรงชันสูตรใจเรา

33. 5For we never came with words of flattery, as you know, nor with a pretext for greed—God is witness. 5เพราะว่าเราไม่ได้ใช้คำยกยอใดๆเลย ซึ่งท่านก็รู้อยู่ หรือมิได้ใช้คำพูดเคลือบคลุมเพื่อความโลภเลย พระเจ้าทรงเป็นพยานฝ่ายเรา

34. 6Nor did we seek glory from people, whether from you or from others, though we could have made demands as apostles of Christ. 6และแม้ในฐานะเป็นอัครทูตของพระคริสต์ เราจะเรียกร้องก็ได้ แต่เราก็ไม่แสวงหาศักดิ์ศรีจากมนุษย์ ไม่ว่าจะเป็นจากท่านหรือจากคนอื่น

35. 7But we were gentle among you, like a nursing mother taking care of her own children. 7แต่ว่าเราอยู่ในหมู่พวกท่าน ด้วยความสุภาพอ่อนโยน เหมือนมารดาที่เลี้ยงดูลูกของตน

36. 8So, being affectionately desirous of you, we were ready to share with you not only the gospel of God but also our own selves, because you had become very dear to us. 8เมื่อเรารักท่านอย่างนี้แล้ว เราก็มีใจพร้อมที่จะเผื่อแผ่เจือจาน มิใช่แต่เพียงข่าวประเสริฐของพระเจ้าเท่านั้น แต่อุทิศตัวเราให้แก่ท่านด้วย เพราะท่านเป็นที่รักยิ่งของเรา

37. 9For you remember, brothers, our labor and toil: we worked night and day, that we might not be a burden to any of you, while we proclaimed to you the gospel of God.

38. 9ดูก่อนพี่น้องทั้งหลาย ท่านคงจำได้ถึงการทำงานอันเหน็ดเหนื่อย และความยากลำบากของเรา เมื่อเราประกาศข่าวประเสริฐของพระเจ้า ให้ท่านฟัง เราทำงานทั้งกลางวันและกลางคืน เพื่อเราจะไม่เป็นภาระแก่ผู้ใดในพวกท่าน

39. 10You are witnesses, and God also, how holy and righteous and blameless was our conduct toward you believers. 10ท่านทั้งหลายเป็นพยานฝ่ายเรา และพระเจ้าก็ทรงเป็นพยานด้วยว่าเราได้ประพฤติตัวบริสุทธิ์ เที่ยงธรรม และปราศจากข้อตำหนิในหมู่พวกท่านที่เชื่อ

40. 11For you know how, like a father with his children, 11ดังที่ท่านรู้แล้วว่า เราได้เตือนสติหนุนใจและกำชับท่านทุกคนดังบิดากระทำต่อบุตร

41. 12we exhorted each one of you and encouraged you and charged you to walk in a manner worthy of God, who calls you into his own kingdom and glory. 12เพื่อให้ท่านประพฤติอย่างสมควรต่อพระเจ้า ผู้ทรงเรียกท่านให้เข้ามาในแผ่นดิน และพระสิริของพระองค์

42. 13And we also thank God constantly for this, that when you received the word of God, which you heard from us, you accepted it not as the word of men but as what it really is, the word of God, which is at work in you believers.

43. 13เราขอบพระคุณพระเจ้าเสมอ เพราะว่าเมื่อท่านทั้งหลายได้รับพระวจนะของพระเจ้า ซึ่งท่านได้ยินจากเรา ท่านไม่ได้รับไว้อย่างเป็นคำของมนุษย์ แต่ได้รับไว้ตามความเป็นจริง คือเป็นพระวจนะของพระเจ้า ซึ่งกำลังทำงานอยู่ภายในท่านทั้งหลายที่เชื่อ

46. 3We ought always to give thanks to God for you, brothers, as is right, because your faith is growing abundantly, and the love of every one of you for one another is increasing.

47. 3ดูก่อนพี่น้องทั้งหลาย เราต้องขอบพระคุณพระเจ้าเพราะท่านทั้งหลายอยู่เสมอ และเป็นการสมควรเพราะความเชื่อของท่านก็จำเริญยิ่งขึ้น และความรักของท่านทุกคนที่มีต่อกันทวีขึ้นมากด้วย

48. I Thessalonians เธสะโลนิกา 4:13-17 13But we do not want you to be uninformed, brothers, about those who are asleep, that you may not grieve as others do who have no hope.

49. 13ดูก่อนพี่น้องทั้งหลาย เราไม่อยากให้ท่านไม่ทราบความจริงเรื่องคนที่ล่วงหลับไปแล้ว เพื่อท่านจะไม่เป็นทุกข์โศกเศร้า อย่างคนอื่นๆที่ไม่มีความหวัง

50. 14For since we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so, through Jesus, God will bring with him those who have fallen asleep. 14เพราะในเมื่อเราเชื่อว่าพระเยซูทรงสิ้นพระชนม์ และทรงคืนพระชนม์แล้ว โดยพระเยซูนั้น พระเจ้าจะทรงนำบรรดาคนที่ล่วงหลับไปแล้วนั้น มากับพระองค์
