  2. What are commas for? The comma helps readers to understand what they are reading and prevents readers from misreading.

  3. Why do I have to use commas? It’s dinner time, lets eat Grandma! It’s dinner time, lets eat, Grandma! Placing commas in the wrong places, changes the sentence completely.

  4. Where does the comma go? You use a comma in a sentence; where it would make sense for the reader to take a pause, instead of coming to a complete stop with a period.

  5. After eating, my dog went outside. After eating my dog went outside. The bus that I told you to take stops at the corner. The bus that I told you to take, stops at the corner.
