  3. Theme God never stops pursuing us to give us what only He can give.

  4. What Is God Doing? God is actively doing two things that distinguish Him from all the other so called gods or belief systems: 1. He persistently goes after us. He chases us down. He is the benevolent one who hounds us continually. The persistence in bringing us to Himself in alerting our conscience to unseen dangers in keeping us on a path toward maturity 2. God loves us with an undying, unconditional love. He cares about the relationship with us so much that He pours out His attention and sacrifice toward us continually.

  5. How Does He Go After Us?

  6. 1. He Pursues Us Through What We See • The wrath of God is being revealed from heaven against all the godlessness and wickedness of men • who suppress the truth by their wickedness, since what may be known about God is plain to them, because God has made it plain to them. • For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities--his eternal power and divine nature— • have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse. Rom. 1:18-20

  7. 2. He Pursues Us Through Our Conscience Even when Gentiles, who do not have God’s written law, instinctively follow what the law says, they show that in their hearts they know right from wrong. They demonstrate that God’s law is written within them, for their own consciences either accuse them or tell them they are doing what is right.Romans2: 14,15

  8. 3a. He Pursues Us Through The Bible 1. God’s Word is like a Fire Jer. 23:29a “ Is not My word like a fire?” says the LORD 2. God’s Word is like a Hammer Jer. 23:29b “And like a hammer that breaks the rock in pieces?” 3. God’s Word is like a Seed Luke 8:11 "Now the parable is this: The seed is the word of God.” 4. God’s Word is like Medicine Pro. 4:22 [The Words of God] are life to those who find them, and health to all their flesh. Ps.107:20 He sent His Word and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions.

  9. 3b. He Pursues Us Through The Bible 5. God’s Word is like a Sword Hebrews 4:12 For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. 6. God’s Word is like a Honeycomb Psalm 119: 103 How sweet are Your Words to my taste, Sweeter than honey to my mouth! 7. God’s Word is like a Light Psalm 119:105 Your Word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.

  10. What does God have to do to get your attention?

  11. 4. He Pursues Us Through The Attention Getters The words of the wise are like goads [Attention Getters], their collected sayings like firmly embedded nails given by one Shepherd. Ec. 12:11 We all fell to the ground, and I heard a voice saying to me in Aramaic, ‘Saul, Saul, why do you persecute me? It is hard for you to kick against the goads [Attention Getters].’ Ac 26:14

  13. 5. He Pursues Us Through The Call • But you are a chosen people, • a royal priesthood, • a holy nation, • a people belonging to God, • that you may declare the praises of Him • who called you out of darkness into His wonderful light. 1Pe 2:9

  14. Our Challenge Have you acknowledgedHe is after you? Do you senseHim pursuing you? Are you ready to say“Yes!” to Him?
