Word gets back that militia storing ammo at Concord (20 miles north of Boston) • SO……. • Gage orders 700 troops under John Pitcain to march to Bostonseize and destroy

Lexington and Concord • 1. Redcoats approach Lexington at dawn • 2. 70 minute men waiting for them (muskets ready to go, led by John Parker) • 3. 1 shot fired, 8 minutemen dead • 4. British continue march towards Concord • ONLY TO FIND….colonist have already removed gunpowder, but destroy what is left • 6. Head back to Boston (British) • 7. On the way back, colonists hide and fire at them • Reaching Boston200 wounded, 73 dead • START OF REVOLUTION
