Literacy is purposeful and constant across contents Prepare: Determine students’ personalities and work with their strengths Plan: Establish a literacy schedule that complements your coursework Practice: Set a schedule and be faithful and diligent Perform: Do all of the above to help students succeed!

All teachers in all subject areas share the responsibility for literacy development in high school. Today, more and more content-area teachers recognize this responsibility and are incorporating content literacy into their teaching through a variety of instructional strategies -Richard Vacca Often our students don’t know the power they have as readers and the possibilities that books provide.
