  2. Evil Dead 1981 Rated 18 Reasons for censorship: The graphic violences in this film is one of the reasons it is frowned upon and was chosen as one of the video nasties of the 80’s The terror and fear it caused the generation created a worry amongst the parents of the children who were watching it. This was not the only film of the moral panic, but it was one of the most remembered. There is an extremely graphic rape scene not too far into the film. This is another issue the audience had with the film.

  3. Mikey 1992 Uncertifiedin the UK The film shows a psychopathic nine year old boy who kills adults in graphic ways, such as electrocuting his mother in a pool. There is one scene where he uses a hammer to kill a woman. Banned after the James Bulger case in 1993. This was decided by the BBFC which refused to issue it with a release certificate. This is still banned.

  4. A Serbian Film Rated 18 2010 Extremely graphic Rape Necrophilia The film has a limited release in 2010. It had 4 and a half minutes of it’s scenes removed, because the BBFC said they contained ‘elements of sexual violence that tend to eroticise and endorse sexual violence’. This became the second most censored film in Britain. Child abuse The film is about a porn actor who thinks he has been cast in an ‘art’ film, which is actually a snuff film that involves child rape and necrophilia.
