  2. Jurassic park • The main theme would be that even technology can make mistakes, especially if pushed and not handled correctly. • In the book Hammond uses technology to recreate dinosaurs, and does so secretly. Without the right protocols and tools this could be destructive.

  3. Jurassic park (cont) • Hammond is so careless with his work and research that they see poisonous plants by the pool. He even ignores the advice of his employees about dangers and some of the dinosaurs can spit poison that was unknown till recently.

  4. Jurassic park (cont. 2) • The island also only has gas powered cars total and if chaos erupted the entire island would have no way to evacuate. Hammond says that the animals are created to be sterile but they find eggs on the island arguing otherwise.

  5. Jurassic park the collapse • Towards the end of the book nedry shuts off the security to steal embryos but doing so stops the electric fences and rail cars leaving the tour guests as bait for the animals. Hammond’s island was not ready or secure enough for tours and he was so greedy that he caused the death of many innocent people.

  6. A Connecticut Yankee in king Arthurs court • This book shows a very good growth of technology and industrialization. • The yankee starts new things like schools and improves on many things like mining. • The yankee starts a newspaper and even a military and naval academy.

  7. Yankee (cont.) • The Yankee talks about democracy at one point asking if voting would be a good system. • The Yankee also created a revolver to shoot sir sagramor while dueling with him. • The Yankee also created a cave with electric fences, Gatling guns, and an electric plant. • He is placed under a spell and sleeps for 13 centuries back to his own time.

  8. Both • Jurassic park shows how technology can cause chaos and a fallout while Yankee shows how technology can improve and create a vast superiority. They both created a bit of chaos and also using technology introduced things in a time period that were from a different time period.
