  1. BIG SUNDAY- SUNDAY MAY 2nd • Choose from one of 3 options: • PROJECT CHICKEN SOUP. • 8am-12n. Hirsch Kitchen 338 N. Fairfax Ave. 90036. Ages 12+ for cooking. • Get ready to cook! We will be making nutritious, kosher meals for 120 underprivileged people living with HIV/AIDS in Los Angeles County. All menus and recipes will be provided. We need volunteers for both the cooking and the packaging & delivering.. Plus, anyone can donate to the food drive! To sign-up contact Dalia : drotter@gmail.com • TELL A SHAGGY DOG STORY. • 9:30am-11:00am. 3612 11thAvenue Los Angeles, 90018.All Ages (preferably 6+). • L.A. Animal Care Services is home to many lost and abandoned dogs and cats. Volunteers are invited to come out and write up the story – real or imagined – of the dogs waiting to find new homes (and take pictures, too). The stories and photos will be posted on their cages so that prospective owners will have a hard time passing them by. They’ll also be making bandanas for the animals and assembling adoption goodie bags. All ages. • Together with the community of Henry Clay school in Hawthorne (around 20 min drive), we will work to plant greenery and paint the garden area. This is a hands-on project with the school parent and student body and is open to all ages. BDJ is renewing our annual commitment to Big Sunday, a city-wide volunteer day that brings together people from neighborhoods all over L.A. to help improve neighborhoods.
