  2. Introduction: For my research project I think the best way to show off and portray my message is through presenting the power point charts. This is the place where we would get into details about how I approached the topic and the goal of my presentation. I would talk about the current data of mortality rates of 3 countries such as Lithuania, Belarus and Russia and also I’d like to display the designed ideas that are proposed. Ultimately, with the use of research project, I’ll find the way to get your full attention .

  3. Objectives: 1. The overall aim of this report is to provide updated data on mortality rates of Lithuania, Belarus and Russia. 2. Discuss the importance of identifying opportunities to reduce mortality. 3. Understand the rates and awful implications of mortality. 4. Be able to develop your own opinion and propositions .

  4. The range of available health statistics: 1.Mortality rate, adult, female. 2.Mortality rate, adult, male. 3.Mortality rate, infant. 4.Leading causes of death.

  5. Explanations for the recent mortality crisis… • excessive alcohol consumption • unemployment growth • erosion of the social security system and of the health sector • falling living standards • growing income inequality

  7. Cause-specific mortality… 1.Drug access- leading cause of death. The data on access to essential drugs are based on statistical estimates received from World Health Organization (WHO) Belarus… 50% Ranked 135th. Lithuania… 80% Ranked 83rd. 60% more than Belarus Russia… 50% Ranked 112 of 163

  8. Cause-specific mortality… 2.Smoking prevalence, adults: Prevalence of smoking, adults is the percentage of men and women who smoke cigarettes. The age range varies among countries but in most is 18 and older or 15 and older. Belarus…53 % Ranked 4th. 4% more than Lithuania Lithuania…51 % Ranked 6th. Russia…60.4 % Ranked 4th of 42.

Cause-specific mortality… 3.Suicide rate > Females/Males: Suicides per 100,000 females and males per year in OECD member countries (The Organisation for Economic Co- operation and Development) Belarus…5.9 per 100,000 people Ranked 8th. Lithuania…6.1 per 100,000 people Ranked 5th. 3 % more than Belarus. Russia…5.6 per 100,000 people Ranked 10th of 76.

Comparing Belarus to Lithuania,Russia While the life expectancy level of Belarus is currently roughly half-way between the levels of Russia and Lithuania, the respective distances are not related to the same cause-specific differences. Three specific indicators (female, male and infant mortality) place Lithuaniaat an advantage compared with Russia and Belarus. While cause-specific mortality alone, places Lithuaniaas a winner and confirms that those high rates in Belarus, Russia are “the only one” indication that the contribution has to be achieved this time.

What can we do to reduce mortality ??? • Reinforcing national health systems by using financial investments to fight mortality rates in the world. • Increasing care and improving human resource strategies including increasing the quality of health professionals and improving terms and conditions. • Improving living conditions of children in the foster houses. • Promoting health objectives and disease prevention programes by a personal participating in conference sessions and activities. • Seeking volunteers to promote healthy lifestyles. • Getting involved in the local Network for healthy well-being programs.

  12. What can we do to reduce mortality rates? My advice is choose a cause that is contributing to the problem but has meaning for you. Get involed. There are a lot of wonderful organizations doing the work you already care about. Even a monetary contribution would allow these organizations to buy additional vaccine to distribute. The best answer is ... care. When you care you talk (informing others) and give (protecting others). I think it is wonderful that you are thinking this way. Please, do what you can. Have the courage to make a difference, even a small one.
