MCS specification. An MCS is accepted if: | dX| 0.1 mm AND | dY| 0.1 mm AND | dT | 3 mrad. An MCS is rejected if: | dX| > 0.3 mm OR | dY| > 0.3 mm OR | dT | > 3 mrad. An MCS with either | dX| or | dY| greater than 0.1 mm is still accepted if:

MCS specification M. Allitt, MEB December 2003 • An MCS is accepted if: • |dX| 0.1 mm AND • |dY| 0.1 mm AND • |dT| 3 mrad. • An MCS is rejected if: • |dX| > 0.3 mm OR • |dY| > 0.3 mm OR • |dT| > 3 mrad. • An MCS with either |dX|or|dY| greater than 0.1 mm is still accepted if: • |dX| 0.3 mm, |dY| 0.3 mm and |dT| 3 mrad AND • The mean and standard deviation of |dX| and |dY| calculated using a sample set numbering at least 50 magnets are both 0.1 mm;
MCDO specification (1) • An MCD module is accepted if: • |dX| 0.1 mm AND • |dY| 0.1 mm AND • |dT| 4 mrad. • An MCD module is rejected if: • |dX| > 0.3 mm OR • |dY| > 0.3 mm OR • |dT| > 4 mrad. • Should either |dX| or|dY| be greater than 0.1 mm, any MCD module will still be acceptable provided that: • |dX| 0.3 mm, |dY| 0.3 mm and |dT| 4 mrad; • The mean and standard deviation of |dX| and |dY| calculated using a sample set numbering at least 50 MCD are both 0.1 mm; M. Allitt, MEB December 2003
MCDO specification (2) • An MCO module is accepted if: • |dX| 0.3 mm AND • |dY| 0.3 mm AND • |dT| 4 mrad. • An MCO module is rejected if: • |dX| > 0.3 mm OR • |dY| > 0.3 mm OR • |dT| > 4 mrad. M. Allitt, MEB December 2003
Conclusions • MCS • More than half of the total MCS needed have been produced. • Average dX, dY close to zero, standard deviation ~ 0.05 mm • Average dT ~ 0.2 mrad, standard deviation ~ 1 mrad • Distribution of European MCS slightly narrower than distribution of Indian MCS, but will probably end up the same • MCDO • Insufficient data for European MCDO • Unknown and not constant co-ordinate system for Indian measurements mean we can’t check the distribution of all magnets. • For Indian MCDO checked at CERN, average dX, dY close to zero, standard deviation ~ 0.05 mm • Average dT ~ - 0.2 to -0.3 mrad, standard deviation ~ 1 mrad M.
