Egyptian Theocracy In Life After Death Pharaoh became the Ram Headed Sun God after death and travelled through the underworld Pharaoh’s subjects went to great pains to preserve his body, prepare his tomb with spells and servants, and protect his final resting place They did this to ensure the sun continued to rise • Pharaoh WAS the sun god reborn and ruled by divine right • Priests advised him on what their god would want him to do • The people did not question government or vote • In general citizens had the freedom to pursue the life the wanted
