Greetings to allPlease excuse my absence to day due to previous commitments I’m glad to report that LMAG in R1 Sections is vibrant and active. • I received six responses from R1 LMAG Section Chairs out of eleven requested. This is a great improvement over last year. • You will note from the summary below that LMAG activities by the reporting Sections a great deal of effort in organizing interesting presentations and forums for networking.
BostonLennartE. Long The LMAG in Boston had the following meeting since September 2012: • September - Making Small and Light Cars Safer • October - The Steam Coffin - first crossing of the Atlantic by Steamship • November - Artisan's Workshop • December - The complete history of the Cambridge Research Laboratory • January - Modern Data Acquisition Systems • February - Important IEEE Milestones
New HampshirePaul Carr LMAG in New Hampshire had joint monthly meetings with other Societies and Chapters.
Central JerseyRalph W. WyndrumJr. The Central Jersey LMAG plans to hold social affairs including dinners, to introduce members and network; establishing ties with the existing retiree groups from Bell Labs, the old NJ Bell/Verizon, Ft. Monmouth retirees, etc. Invite the members to Section technical talks, and have local technical tours. Plans to establish a Newsletter
Conclusion The above report gives an idea of the LMAG activities for the reported Sections. I urge the Section Chairs of the non responding LMAG Chairs to provide activities input in the future. I plan to contact all R1 LMAG Chairs via conference call in the near future to discuss plans and share ideas. Best Regards to all.

Worcester SectionAl Reinhart The Worcester Section sponsored the following: Senior Member Elevation Clinic held in February and March of each year inviting section members interested in elevating its membership to Senior Member level; Engineers Week Dinner Meeting held in February of every yearAnnual Awards Dinner held in May of every year honoring newly elevated Senior Members; Annual Picnic held in June to network and socialize; and The Worcester Regional Science & Engineering Fair (WRSEF) held in March
North JerseyArt Greenberg In 2012 the North Jersey section held two LMAG functions: • On October 19th, a technical talk on "Lighting Applications". The speaker was Paul Hafner. • On October 25th a talk on the North New Jersey 500 KV transmission line presently in progress. The speaker was John Ribardo of PSE&G.
