  3. Pearls ,Jean and his workers place a small piece of Shell in the oyster. The oyster overs the piece of shell with a pearly Substance known as ”nacre.” This is the source of a pearl. The quality Of a pearl depends on the environment in which the oyster lives: The temperature and quality of the water and food supply. Pearls that are smooth And have no spots or cracks sell for higher prices. Jean says that pearls are a gift of nature, and he finds his job fascinating.
