Key success factors In the future • Infrastructure • Price • Stability • Rolling stock • People • Quality and speed • Innovation Today • Rolling stock • Stability • Price • Infrastructure • People
Key learnings from RTA in 2007-2008 Role of the infrastructure is increasing; To be able to improve railway pricing and become more price competitive takes time; New type of wagons for transportation of new cars with new dimensions is needed urgently; Long-term contracts makes entry for a new company difficult; Overall railway infrastructure and speed has an advantage and great future opportunity to increase transportation volumes transported on rail; Trans-Siberian corridor is great future opportunity to deliver the passenger vehicles from Far-East to Russia, other CIS and … Europe.

Planning Rolling Stock of RailTransAuto RTA plans to purchase 1200 double-deck car-carrying wagons in 2008 in addition to our own existing rolling stock fleet of 2167 wagons. We arepurchasing the Russian-designed wagons (models 11-287 and 11-835 manufactured by JSC “Altaivagon“, and new fully closed model11-1291 manufactured by Ruzkhimmash, VKM), and the newly developed articulated wagons produced by JSC "Transmash" (under the autor control of German Company Fahrzeugtechtik Dessau AG).
Market Development Scenarios & Conclusions • Russian Consumer market of passenger cars will continue to increase and new car import will play the major role in that: • During “door to door’ delivery infrastructure will play much bigger role in the future and will be one of the key success factors to provide competitive advantage – (Mr. V.I. Yakunin: “Russian Railways strategy until 2030”); • New type of rolling stock is urgently needed for the transportation the vehicles with new dimensions; • Pricing will become more competitive if and when the volumes on railway will increase; • New routes to the market will be developed as existing routes are already congested; • Future gateway – Trans-Siberian railway!!
