Review System: Author submits manuscript via Manuscript Central Managing editor (ME) checks in manuscript, removes identifiers. Revise & Resubmit (R&R) Desk Reject (Editor may send to an AE for additional input and decision to reject or send for review Author notified via MC (within 3 - 7 daysof submission) Editor selects associate editor (AE) (or guest editor for SRFs). Editorinvites 2-3 reviewers. ME checks for reviewers response in MC. Reviewers accepts / declines invitation. Editor selects additional reviewers if necessary. 2-3 reviewsdue to MC. Auto reminders sent (by MC) to late reviewers. Replacement reviewers selected if necessary. Assigned AE or editor writes decision letter in MC: Reject, R&R, conditional acceptance, or acceptance. Author issued final decision letter via MC. Copies to reviewers (without author´s name) and ME. 1 - 3 days About 60 days from submission 14 days 1 - 3 days 7 days 30 days ASAP 4 – 6 months Time to Complete Task If R&R, author accepts / declines invitation.
