Repair Sharing • [P8Z68-V PRO]: Halt at 19 or 72 • The Initial Problem Analysis: • 1 : Visually check MB slot for damage. Check front and back of the board for line breaks. • 2: Check SX1 if it has 32.768 KHz or not. Check PQ616 PIN2 +3VSB and PU601 PIN2 +3VSB_ATX are normal. • 3: After plugging CPU and power on, MB would halt at 19 for few second, then halt at 72. • 4: Definition and Type of no display: • MB halt at 19 or 72, it means EC or EC flash part is fail. • Repair process Visually Check Measure VCORE & VAUX CK_100M_DMI CPU Frequency SignalH_CPURST#S_CPUPWRGD PIN35 3.2V_VACC PIN61 3VSB_VCC4 PIN60 1.8V_REF Crystal O2_ECPG O2_ECRST# Try to exchange EC chipset KB3720, MB still halt at 19 for few seconds, but can see display on the screen. However, the display shows “EC or EC Flash” fail message. EC (KB3720) IC EC SPI Flash Measure O2RN4 each PINs and find O2RN4 PIN3, PIN4 impedance are abnormal. Try to remove and exchange a new one to solve this issue.
