  1. What is the maximum weight a drone can lift? We are talking about amateur type drones. Can a drone for example carry a human? An amateur drone's maximum lifting capacity is determined by its particular model and setup. Nonetheless, amateur drones can typically carry 0.3 to 2 kg (0.4 to 4.4 pounds). The lifting capacities of drones are broken down as follows: Amateur drones are not able to carry people for the following reasons:

Commercial and professional drones are your best bet for carrying heavier payloads or people, as they are capable of lifting much more weight. These drones have large batteries, strong motors, and cutting-edge safety features. Nevertheless, they also cost a lot more and need specific training to operate.
