The Crucible • Puritan Religion • “Pure” life according to strict rules of bible • Dancing = BAD • Girls caught dancing naked in forest = BADDER!!! • Salem Townspeople • Majority will use evil for their own benefit • Tragic Irony – Innocent will be punished and guilty are free • Fear of the Unknown • We like to have answers so we know how to react • Supernatural Freaks people out
