Preliminary results of the t0 dependence on hodoscope's position Dinos Bachas
Introduction • 4 runs with hodoscope at different position • 600572 – Hodo at 2.2m • 600584 – Hodo at 2.7m • 600578 – Hodo at 3.7m • 600579 – Hodo at 4.2m • Beam energy 80GeV (apart from run1 → 20.8GeV) • Used ATHENA v.8.5.0 • Fit Time Spectra per multilayer of all barrel chambers → Get t0 from fit and calculate tdrift • What happens to t0 when hodoscope at different position?
Fitting details • Fits of Time Spectra per multilayer performed using the following function Taken from :ATLAS MUON Note, March 27 2003, “BIL Chamber Tests in Roma Tre” P5: T0 P6: Tmax • Fits performed using ROOT and errors correspond to the fit error
t0 vs. Hodo.Position Slope of fit: 4.03±0.11 ns/m
t0 vs. Hodo.Position Slope of fit: 4.17±0.11 ns/m
Conclusions • T0 depend on hodoscope position as expected • From the linear fit we obtain a rise for the T0 of 1nsec/25cm • All other chambers have similar behavior • Last point (#4) on both tDrift vs. Hodo.Position plots corresponds to lower tDrift than the other three points. Could it be that the temperature at 4.2m is higher?? • Thanks to Chara, Fabio and Stefano…
