    3. MOBILIZATION DEMOBILIZATION OPERATION IRAQI FREEDOM MOBILIZATION/DEMOB SITE- CAMP ATTERBURY, INDIANA SOLDIER READINESS PROCESSING CENTER (SRC)

    4. MOBILIZATION 71 ARNG AND USAR UNITS MOBILIZED 29 UNITS/DETACHMENTS FROM INDIANA 41 UNITS/DETACHMENTS FROM 14 OTHER STATES 3 UNITS HAVE BEEN DEMOBILIZED

    5. TWO DIFFERENT MISSIONS: CONUS MISSION – WITHIN THE US HOMELAND SECURITY MISSION OCONUS MISSION - OUTSIDE CONTINENTAL US COMBAT OVER 6000 SOLDIERS PROCESSED 11 NOV 02- 20 Jun 03

    6. THINGS NOTED: MORALE HIGH AND SUPPORTIVE EMPLOYERS/SOLDIERS/ FAMILIES NOT PREPARED EMPLOYERS SUPPORTIVE

    7. Good Notes MOST SOLDIERS HAD RECEIVED: USERRA BRIEFING MOBILIZATION/ EMPLOYMENT BRIEFING AT HOME STATION PRIOR TO ARRIVAL AT SRC MOBILIZATION PACKETS WERE DISTRIBUTED

    8. Good Notes FOCUSED ON WAR NOT JOBS LEFT JOBS WITH GOOD RELATIONSHIP MOBILIZATION ORDERS TO EMPLOYER

    9. Problems LACK of USERRA UNDERSTANDING THE LAW THEIR RESPONSIBILITY

    10. Soldier’s Profiles CONFIDENT JOB WOULD BE THERE UPON RETURN LARGE NUMBER COLLEGE STUDENTS SOME SELF-EMPLOYED HAD TO CLOSE BUSINESS

    11. ESGR Issues MANY OF UNIT LEADERSHIP HAD NOT DONE EVERYTHING TO HAVE SOLDIERS/FAMILIES PREPARED SOLDIER EITHER KNEW ABOUT ESGR OR NEVER HEARD OF ESGR NO MIDDLE GROUND

    12. DEPLOYMENTS: ATTITUDES WERE CONSIDERABLY DIFFERENT DISAPPOINTMENT HAPPY ALREADY CONTACTED EMPLOYER SOME NOT PLANNING TO RETURN TO THEIR JOB

    13. DEPLOYMENTS: (cont.) DEPLOYMENT PACKETS GLADLY RECEIVED INTERESTED IN “MY BOSS IS A PATRIOT” AWARD THOSE WHO MAILED IN REQUEST ARE STILL WAITING

    14. DEPLOYMENTS: (cont.) THOSE THAT USED ESGR WEB SITE HAD RAPID TURN AROUND 90 % BELIEVE THEY HAVE NO EMPLOYER PROBLEM

    15. INESGR Committee 30 INESGR MEMBERS (MANY CAME NUMEROUS TIMES) VOLUNTEERED 2200 HOURS equals 220 TEN-HOUR DAYS DROVE 10,480 MILES inclement weather WARMLY GREETED SOLDIERS THANKED THEM FOR THEIR SERVICE TO OUR COUNTRY

    16. Many soldiers remarked how grateful and appreciative they were that someone was really interested in their welfare.
