FVS Data Translocation Techniques with the BLM FORVIS Database 3rd FVS Conference Feb. 14, 2007 Tim Bottomley
BLM FORVIS Database • FORVIS – Forest Vegetation Information System; initial release in 2001, Version 2 in 2005 • Distributed database stored at individual State offices in an Informix RDBM • MS Access is the user interface through an ODBC driver
FORVIS • Contains 32 data tables • Only 2 relate to FVS • stand_data • tree_data
Big Question for BLM? Should BLM look at using the database extension of FVS in lieu of creating the stand list and tree data text files for FVS input?
