Importing TwoDog Data To FVS • Copy FVS_Import_FOR480 and Database_Import_FOR490.loc from \\Forestry3\I\FOR480\FVS (Forestry 3 > I > FOR480> FVS). • Paste these files in C:\FVSData (My Computer> C: > FVSData)
Importing TwoDog Data To FVS • Copy TwoDog Summary Database_Version 2.1_FVS Export from \\Forestry3\I\FOR480 (Forestry 3 > I > FOR480). • Paste this file on the desktop(or where ever you want to access it).
Importing TwoDog Data To FVS • Now open TwoDog, select the job with your stands. • Go to Reports > Calculate. • Press Calculate on the Pop-up.
Importing TwoDog Data To FVS • After the calculations, go to Reports > Print Reports. • From the Window, write down the stand names and number of Sample Points. • Write them EXACTLY the way they are in TwoDog! • After writing this data down, • close TwoDog.
Importing TwoDog Data To FVS • Open TwoDog Summary Database_Version 2.1_FVS Export (the file you saved on your desktop or where ever you chose). • Press options at the • on the security alert • bar. • Select enable content • and Press Okay.
Importing TwoDog Data To FVS • Type in your Stand IDs and Number of Plots (sample points) EXACTLY like you copied down from TwoDog. • Press Update Data. • Press Generate FVS Files.
Importing TwoDog Data To FVS • Press Create FVS Stand List. • Click Yes to everything. • Press Create FVS Tree List. • Click Yes to everything. • After Step 2, Close Form. • Exit Program.
Importing TwoDog Data To FVS • Open Suppose. • Press Select Stands. • In the FVSData folder, Open Database_Import_FOR490.loc
Importing TwoDog Data To FVS • Select FOR480, the undefined middle column, and the stand you want to work on. • Highlight this stand and Press Add 1 Stand.
Building Model for Simulation in Suppose- FVS • Press Set Time Scale. • Choose year to end simulation. • Choose common cycle. • This determines the interval in which data is presented in the output.
Building Model for Simulation in Suppose- FVS • Press Select Outputs • Choose Base FVS Treelists > Build Standard Tree and Cutlist. • Press Okay on Pop-up.

Building Model for Simulation in Suppose- FVS • Select Management. • Choose Type of management. • Set Time and details of treatment. • Press OK.
Building Model for Simulation in Suppose- FVS • Select Run Simulation. • Choose a file name to save designed model. • Press Save.
Suppose Simulation Outputs • Toss data shows data for selected Cycle length years. • Press Finish.
Suppose Simulation Outputs • Stand and Stock Tables Output shows data for Species and Diameter Class for selected Cycle Length years.
Suppose Simulation Outputs • If you want to have a visual model for the simulation… • Include Stand Visualization System (SVS) in Post Processors.
Suppose Simulation Outputs • In Select Outputs, Select Build SVS Treelist. • Choose model details. • Select OK.
Suppose Simulation Outputs • Run Simulation. • Output gives visual representation for stand for each year of Common Cycle Length selected.
