  1. Instrument group leaders summaries – with focus on EU/DOE collaboration • Sy determination for different instruments: What is already available, what needs to be done? Documentation for user? • Calibration uncertainties/offsets – how are they quantified and corrected for? What is already being done, future ideas • Inventory of forward models – which ones are sharable • Forward model uncertainties: identify most crucial parameters in forward models for different instruments. Propose new measurement techniques/approaches to constrain forward model parameters • Prior data set group leaders – with focus on EU/DOE collaboration • What prior data sets exist and are being used? Compiled versions of the data? Access & Contacts? • Planned campaigns (DOE/EU)? Dates and contacts. • What type of measurements do we need in future? List of wishes!

Algorithm & Variables • LWC, IWC, Reff, N … • Which algorithms exist, should we be testing or developing? • Liquid: MIXCRA, MFRSR, Microbase, IPT, Brandau, Cloudnet, SYRSOC, Donovan, Kollias group retrieval (Doppler spectra) • Ice: concentrate on uncertainties of calculating radar measurements from in-situ measurements; identifying forward model parameter uncertainties in Sb; removing turbulence from Doppler spectra • develop: OE method coming optimal measurements and methods • develop: Doppler spectra inclusion … • How can we evaluate consistently? • first step: extend existing EG-CLIMET OSSE for liquid clouds, ICEPRO (Alain Protat) – are Europeans joining? • second step: Black forest (AMF) closure studies BBHRP (liquid) • third step: reiterate with more complex & sophisticated retrieval? • Needing fundings for meetings and analysis to speed up the work
