  2. Introduction Many may believe that electricity is the resource that we use the most of, and for almost everyone it is. I am proposing ways to reduce the use of electricity for Meigs Academic Magnet Middle School, while saving money.

  3. Programmable Thermostats - Programmable thermostats allow you to heat or cool a building at a set time of day - The best model for the least expense is about $75 - Saves about $180 a year

  4. Turning Off Computers - Could save up to $35,000 - 40,000 a year in electricity bills. - Don’t just turn off, unplug it. - Modern computers can take 40,000 on/off switches before breaking

  5. Weather Strips and Caulking - Caulk is used to seal cracks, gaps, or joints that are less than 1 quarter-inch wide. - Weatherstripping can seal leaks around movable joints, such as windows or doors. - Depending on the age and the condition of the building, caulking and weatherstripping could save a substantial amount of money.
