The City of LA can play a role in providing publicly available charge stations • Funding from ARRA pays for the capital costs of installing the stations • The battery charging infrastructure must be present in order to have widespread EV adoption. • Where should the city install EVSEs (Electric Vehicle Supply Equipment)? Problem Statement
Midterm: • Detailed descriptions of destinations • Final: • Analysis of Hybird Vehicle penetration rates as a percentage of total registered vehicles in zip codes as a proxy for EV penetration rates. • Identify zip codes with highest concentrations of Hybrid Vehicles and find out where they travel to in Southern California. • Compare to the midterm deliverable, and see if any areas overlap. Overlapping areas should have priority for EVSE installations • All other locations need to be considered in light of other factors Deliverables
