Park Purchase • 1998 – City Council Goal “Obtain one lake access for swimming” • All Lakes over 20 Acres Assessed: (Bigelow, Chambers, Hewitt, Ken, and Ward) • Several Parcels on Ward Lake investigated at that time • No willing sellers - effort dropped • 2006 - City approached by willing seller

  10. Park Purchase • Appraisal, Engineering Study • Council direction to purchase this property for swim beach • City purchased the park 5/24/2007 with voter approved private utility tax
