SMART (Stress Management And Resiliency Training) • Dr. Amit Sood, author of Mayo Clinic ‘Stress-Free Living’ • Professor of Medicine at Mayo Clinic College of Medicine • Director of Research in the Complementary and Integrative Medicine Initiative. • Developed SMART after studying research from the disciplines of Neuroscience, Psychology, Spirituality and Philosophy. • 2 Part Program • How and why we get stressed (know our brain and mind). • What we can do about it (train our brain and mind). • Lourdes Participants • Taught in Guidance Class to 9th and 10th Grade students. • Any Lourdes parent can access the SMART Online Course at www.stressfree.org. • Special 50% off discount offered to any Lourdes Parent—coupon50 is the gift code. • All proceeds from Lourdes parent registrations will be donated to Catholic Charities. • The Online Course is completely optional to Lourdes Parents.

Lourdes Parent Testimonial “Practice moment this week – I was racing to the office for an early morning meeting – get parked – grab my work bags and notice that (son’s) bag is still in my car from the night before. Instead of “freaking out” I simply got back in my car, called Kolton and let him know I was returning home with his bag and to please be waiting outside to “grab and go”. Getting upset would serve no purpose – instead – I used that time to think about my day – take a breath and see my boy again before school and work. It wasn’t good or bad, it just was. And I still made it to work.”

Completion of LAB #5 – Smart Board/Computers Projection of additional courses: Computer Science (PLTW) Partnership with Saint Mary’s University for guaranteed credit Web Site launch on or about 10.1.14 – Mrs. Laura Smith Mentoring Program continues – Ms. Mary Spring (RCS-wide) ET AL ~ Rochester Symphony and Chorale Tony Melendez Concert
