  2. Rotary is an International Organization • Spread over 216 countries across 538 Districts throughout the world having 34216 clubs with 1.21 million Rotarians. • India has 3148 clubs with 121900 Rotarians. • Our District is Dist No 3140. It has 123 clubs with approx 6500 Rotarians

  3. Rotary Founder Paul Harris In the beginning… • The first Rotary Club was organized in Chicago in 1905, by Paul P. Harris. • The club, with four members, met in rotation at the offices of the members - thus the name Rotary. • The main purpose was fellowship and business

  4. Service Above Self • Rotary was not long to recognize that fellowship alone would not keep a group together — there needed to be a purpose. • First project was public washrooms in downtown Chicago. • Rotary became the world’s first “Service Club”.

  5. Rotary International is governed by a president and a board of directors elected from all over the world. R.I. Pres. Sakuji Tanaka • Annually each District elects a District Governor • Similarly each Club elects a President. D.G. Rtn. Bal Inamdar

  8. Object of Rotary The object of Rotary is to encourage and foster the ideal of service as a basis of worthy enterprise and, in particular, to encourage and foster: • First. The development of acquaintance as an opportunity for service; • Second. High ethical standards in business and professions; the recognition of the worthiness of all useful occupations; and the dignifying by each Rotarian of his or her occupation as an opportunity to serve society; • Third. The application of the ideal of service by every Rotarian to his or her personal, business and community life; • Fourth. The advancement of international understanding, good will, and peace through a world of fellowship of business and professional people united in the ideal of service.

Club Service • Those things that a Rotarian does to help make successful the running of the local club. • Vocational Service • The promoting of the high ethical standards in the business and profession recognizing the worthiness of all dignified occupations • Community Service • Urges every Rotarian to participate in all activities which make the community a better place in which to live. • International Service • Encourage and foster the advancement of understanding and good will among people of the world. • New Generation • Recognizes the positive change implemented by youth thru leadership development, exchange programs that enrich world peace

  13. Rotary Club of Mumbai Nariman Point Chartered on 1st May 2002 Present strength 68 members Has made a distinct identity in District for being very young club Average age is 42 Famous for its camaraderie & bonding Has great fellowship’s & does equally good and unique charity projects

Rotary Club of Mumbai Nariman PointProjects- • Average annual spend in charity projects is approx Rs. 50 lakh • Main area’s – Community Development, Education Development & Health Development • During last 10 years club has identified certain root causes which it supports year on year in continuation.

  18. Your Obligations in Rotary Participation • To be a Rotarian you must give of your time and talents: • in community work • in social functions • in Club and District activities.

  19. Your Obligations in Rotary Attendance • Attendance at the weekly meetings is a benefit of Rotary. A minimum of 60% is expected. • You can maintain your attendance levels by making up at another Rotary Club within 14 days in advance or 14 days after a meeting is missed; or by attending a District event or a RI Convention.

  20. Rotary Club of Mumbai Nariman Pointis Fun • A service club should be fun to be a part of even when the work is tiresome. • Rotary Club of Mumbai Nariman Point strives to be a fun, young-at-heart club. • Social events are offered regularly. • We live up to our theme: “Enjoy Rotary.”
