  3. National FBLA • Largest business-related vocational organization in the world. • There are over 250,000 members across the world! • One level of FBLA does not dictate to another how to operate as long as national bylaws are followed

  4. Texas Charter • National organization created in 1942 • Texas FBLA chartered June 15, 1952 by Dr. Vernon Payne, North Texas State in Denton • Just celebrated 61 years, making FBLA the oldest CTSO in Texas • First chapter was Breckenridge HS, followed soon by Jacksboro who still has a chapter today

  17. How to Charter a Chapter • Obtain support from administration • Complete a COP (Chapter Organization Packet) • Enlist at least three members • Mail COP and $12 dues ($6 state/$6 national) plus $20 charter fee to national office • Dive into Success!

  18. Competitive Events • Aligned with the NBEA Standards, State/National Career Clusters, and STEM • Majority are performance based • Real world application • Receive scholarships and recognition at area, state, and national levels
