Prolegomena Lesson fourContinuation of chapter one The Inimitability of the Qur’an Correctness of expression Systems of regulation and legislation Precision of underlying meaning of the Qur’an Hidden matters in the Qur’an Secrets of creation in the Qur’an
Qur’an and the testaments • Qur’an rejects many concepts found in the old books especially the issues concerned with the attributes of God and the quality of the Prophets (AS), the so called mistakes of Prophets were not sins, but choices which were not preferred, such as multiple choice test, there is a best, better, good, fair, and bad choices, so if they choose the good or better choice and avoid the best choice, it is not considered bad choice or a sin. Where the bible ascribes real filthy sins on the holy Prophets (AS). • Examples: • Genesis 2 and 3 God lied to Adam, and deceived him regarding the tree, and was threatened by Adam and his revolution on God, and about God He walks in the Paradise and does not know where is Adam, and Shataan was better than God he told him the truth and God lied to him. • Story of Ebraheem (AS) who feared the Pharaoh and told him that Sara is his sister and not his wife.
More Problems in the old books • Story of Prophet Loot (AS) and his daughters, dinking wine. • Prophet Yaqoob (AS) took the Prophecy from his father Ishaaq (AS) by deception and plot, so his elder brother was deprived and the younger brother Yaqoob (AS) took it. • Prophet Solayman (AS) and Esa (AS) are descendents of illegitimate grandfather who came from an incest • Story of Prophet Daood (AS) with the wife of Oriya his loyal soldier. And Solayman (AS) was from that act of fornication. • Prophet Solayman (AS) because of his lust for women he worshiped their idols, and built structures for them. • God commands one of his Prophets (AS) to commit adultery.
The problems in the new testament • Jesus (AS) insults his mother in front of the people and disrespects her and preferred his companions who abandoned him when the Jews came to kill him. • Jesus (AS) produces 6 barrels of wine by miracle and drinks. He was addicted to wine. And there is a command to Haroon (AS) prohibiting the intoxicants. John the Baptist also prevented people from drinking intoxicants. The Qur’an opposes such acts of indecency and condemns them, how can it be a production of the Jewish and Christian resources where it conflicts with many things mentioned in them.
The Holy Qur'an and the Integrity of Elucidation: • It has been experienced that if some one bases his laws and reports on falsehood and calumny, then he will end up in self contradiction and inconsistency or incoherence, whether intentionally or not. This is a nature in the human. • The Holy Qur'an spoke about various topics and subjects from theology to acts of worship and morals, nothing in it is found contradictory in the community of intellectuals. There are concepts repeated in different ways but creates and integrity away from contradictions. More to that, it produces more meanings (Reaction of the verses together). • To produce such new meanings from the Holy Qur'an, it requires pondering and contemplation deeply into the meanings of the verses in the Holy Qur'an. • أَفَلاَ يَتَدَبَّرُونَ الْقُرْآنَ وَلَوْ كَانَ مِنْ عِندِ غَيْرِ اللّهِ لَوَجَدُواْ فِيهِ اخْتِلاَفًا كَثِيراً • [Shakir 4:82] Do they not then meditate on the Quran? And if it were from any other than Allah, they would have found in it many a discrepancy. • This verse clearly states that if it was from other than Allah, they would have found many inconsistencies in it.
Qur'an invites people to use their intellect, use of Innate. • WaleedbinAlmoghera describes the Holy Qur’an after the arch enemy of Islam AboJehl asked him. Waleed responded: • “What should I say about it? By God, there is no one among you who is more knowledgeable than me in poetry or who is more conversant than me in the rajaz meter of poetry, or [in] the odes, or the poetry composed by the jinn. I solemnly declare that it [the Qur’an] does not contain anything that resembles any of this [that I know about]. By God, it is the most refined speech; it demolishes what is inferior to it, and it surely surpasses but cannot be surpassed.” • Abu Jahl said, “By God, your people will not be satisfied until you talk about it.” To this, al-Walid said, “Then give me time to think about it.” After thinking, he said, “This is magic which has been related to him on the authority of someone else.” In another version, al-Walid is reported to have said: “By God, I have heard from him a discourse that is neither the words of humans nor of jinn. It is indeed the most refined speech; it has elegance; the loftiest of it is most fruitful, and the basest is most bountiful. Indeed, it surpasses without being surpassed, and this has not been said by a human being.”
Contradictions in the Previous Books: • Some contradictions in the previous books: Such as in chapter 12, 19, and 27 from texts of Mathew, Luke, Mark, and John. • Who will not be with me will be against me • who is not against you is with you or for you • No one is Good but God alone • I am the Good shepherd • Both robbers reviled the Christ • Only one reviled the Christ and the other defended him • If I bear witness to myself, my testimony is not true • If I bear witness to myself, my testimony is true
Systems of regulation and legislation • The Holy Qur’an changed a whole community from darkness to light, from ignorance to knowledge. There were many serious problems in the community, such as: • Burying daughter alive • Looting, killing, enslaving, cheating, worshipping idols made of stones, wood, and dates. • Barbaric society: rich looted the poor, strong dominated the weak, and all sorts of corruption was spread all around the community. • The Holy Qur’an united them under the oneness of God, taught them how to create a strong, faithful, intellectual and spiritual society. Some of the teachings of the Holy Qur’an: • Taking care of trust • Justice and fair in rulings and in dealings with people • Having a good nature, a nature of bestowing favors upon others • Avoiding abomination, corruption, and wickedness • Generosity and caring for others
The Legislative System in the Holy Qur'an: • Moderation in spending • Patience, tolerance, and forbearance in adversity and misfortunes. • Observing moral values, especially with parents • Punishment and retaliation with justice • The stages of hereafter, especially the detailed description of death, resurrection, paradise, and hell • Ways to worship Allah, ablution, Salaat, fasting, and Hajj • Seeking knowledge, pondering and contemplation • Rules of marriage, divorce, trade, contracts, inheritance, hunting and other issues related to the life of human and his dealing with himself, with his God, and with his community • Islamic unity and equality of human, where the only distinguishing factor is piety [Taqwa] and knowledge • Everyone among you is from Adam, and Adam is from dust.
Precision of underlying meaning or the Expression in Holy Qur’an: • All the facts and various subjects which the Holy Qur’an contains, none of them have lost their perfect applicability and relevance, nor became open to criticism in any aspect, nor falsehood is ascribed to any of its verses. On the contrary, it can be observed that whoever has written theoretical subject, the errors are observed and become obvious, and the matter becomes subject to criticism. • The more the investigation and researches increase, the more those theories change.
