“The Future of eDofE: Where we were and where we’re going”
eDofE Version 3 • We have rebuilt the eDofE database and software • eDofE update will cause some downtime – we have scheduled 18 – 21st July and 1 – 4th August • All current live data is safe & secure and will be migrated • Look & feel updates to the new refreshed brand
eDofE Version 3 (continued) • The updates make eDofE easier to use and are based on: • changes to technology • feedback received from users • We have fixed some bugs and standardised functions • Ensures any dates meet the business rules • In a strong position to support future developments
Changes for Participants • Consistent with brand refresh • Able to sign in to an ‘Inactive’ account • Choice of all timescales available • Remembers last preferred leader chosen • Simplified and improved evidence upload • Uploaded evidence is auto saved • Able to view approved Award information • Messaging system rebuilt
Adults • Consistent page design for all • Reduced pop ups– confirmation/success now on page • Buttons become active when information is right • Participant/Leader must set activity end date • Error messages in a red box around the wrong information
Adults (continued) • Notification of Assessor Reports • Alert screen redesigned • Archiving has been simplified • Adult permissions set when account is created • Top search menu now lists all relevant results • Left hand menu reviewed • New Training Videos
Additional developments • New rules on Data Change requests • Updated Data retention and data sharing policies • Reporting monthly Strategic goals report Pipeline • Minor upgrades sprints • Single sign on • Mobilisation/mobile sites • Adult training records • On-line expedition notification • new eShop • Improved communications
Key Tasks of the Role • Check Awards meet Sectional requirements; • Check Awards meet participant goals; • Use eDofE to Approve Awards; • Keep up to date with DofE developments; • Identify programme quality issues.
