  2. Dissociation When an ionic solid dissolves it separates into free floating ions. Salt A

  4. When the two salt solutions are mixed the ions that can form an insoluble salt join together forming a precipitate that falls to the bottom of the beaker. precipitate

  5. Ions that do not join together in the reaction remain in solution unaffected by the reaction. These are known as Spectator Ions. Spectator Ions

  6. Any ions that would have reacted, but there were no ions left for them to attach to are left as Excess. Excess
