  1. Sleep Apnea is a severe sleeping disorder that causes serious breathing problems; sudden heavy breathing and then stoppage. The leading three causes of sleep apnea are unhealthy diet, no physical activity, and less awareness. If sleep apnea is +left untreated for a more extended period, it can cause congestive heart failure, brain strokes, and anxiety attacks. Given below are the eight reasons for the same: 1. Obesity  Being obese makes it harder to overcome sleep apnea because of the extra deposition of fats, upper airways collapse, decreased lung volume, and difficulty breathing, and worsening sleep apnea. 2. Unhealthy Diet  Eating much junk and deep-fried food and excessive alcohol consumption upsets your stomach and liver both. Excessive eating and alcohol consumption collapse the upper airway and worsen sleep apnea. 3. Insomnia  Insomnia results in depression, stroke, and anxiety and hence increases dyspnea. While getting older, your quality of sleep deteriorates, so you shouldn't mix sleep apnea and chronic insomnia conditions.

  2. 4. Medical History  Genetically history of diabetes, cardiovascular diseases, high blood pressure, and seasonal allergies develop more increased chances of developing sleep apnea. 5. Menopause  Sleep apnea is more common in females. In aged women, sleep apnea can take a giant form because menopause leads to weight gain, mood swings, hot flashes, poor concentration, contagious pain in joints, etc. 6. Getting Aged  When you are getting old, you lose muscle from the maximum part of your body, including your airway. Losing muscles from the airway becomes it harder to stay open and makes sleep apnea worse. 7. Respiratory Diseases  Obstruction in the nasal passage cause sleep apnea. In the case of sleep apnea, respiratory problems are neglected easily because of the lack of knowledge and education. 8. Sleep Cycle  Breakage of the rhythm of sleep reduces the oxygen level of the body, hence breaking the sleep cycle and worsening sleep apnea.
