  1. Christmas

  2. Christmas eve Christmas is a Christian celebration, celebrating the birth of Jesus. It is celebrated on the 25th of December every year.

  3. Christmas Eve On the night before Christmas, it is traditional for children to hang up a stocking. Children also put food and drink out for Santa and his reindeer. Many Christians go to midnight mass at church.

  4. The Christmas Day dinner Turkeys were first used when people had large families in the Victorian times, when a goose wasn’t big enough. So they started using a turkey instead, which they had kept in their garden every year. The Christmas pudding originated as a 14th century "porridge" called frumenty that was made by boiling beef and mutton with raisins, currants, prunes, wines and spices.

  5. Christmas crackers were invented by Thomas Smith in 1846.

  6. Christmas decorations • The evergreen tree was an ancient symbol of life in the midst of winter. Romans decorated their houses with evergreen branches during the New Year and planted them in boxes inside their houses in wintertime.

  7. When we wake up on Christmas morning We open our stockings. We eat our Christmas dinner in the evening. We always have turkey roast potatoes. I set the table. I put crackers on the table.

  8. Our favourite Our favourite part of Christmas is presents under the Christmas tree. The Christmas tree is always pretty, decorated with lights, baubles and tinsel. We put a star or fairy on the top of the tree.
