Supporting Refugee Integration in Higher Education

This project aims to empower higher education staff to facilitate the access and integration of refugees, asylum seekers, and internally displaced persons into the European Higher Education Area. By addressing the priority of inclusive education, the project contributes to the 2011 EU Modernisation Agenda's goal of reforming higher education systems.

Horizontal priority: Inclusive education, training and youth • Sectorial priority: HIGHER EDUCATION: Supporting the implementation of reforms in line with the 2011 EU Modernisation Agenda's priority areas • Most relevant topic: Integration of refugees inHERE addresses the priority concerning inclusive education, attracting refugees from conflict affected countries into HE as a core condition for the success of the 2011 EU Modernisation Agenda (integration of students at risk of social exclusion, provision of equal opportunities for access to education, equity in treatment). This will be obtained empowering the higher education staff, so that they are able to take an active stand in facilitating access and integration of refugees, asylum seekers, and internally displaced persons into the European Higher Education Area.
