Potential or Available Target Test Areas • Radiation Damage Irradiation- • Currently no facility lending itself to low energy irradiation • Some areas in front of beam absorbers at 400 MeV and 120 GeV • Low flux compared to near future targets • Areas not currently set-up to handle sample exchange, temperature control, etc… • Target single pulse testing- • Possibility exists at AP-0 Target Hall for NuMI/NOvA intensity pulse (~5e13 ppp) with smaller spot size (0.2 mm sigma) • Would require extraction line re-configuration (re-installation of kicker system) PASI 2013 WG1 FNAL Capabilities

Materials Science • Fairly capable basic materials testing lab (optical microscopy, tensile tester, hardness) • Some more advanced equipment (SEM with EDS) • Equipment primarily used in support of SC magnet and RF cavity development, but can accept low dose rate samples for analysis PASI 2013 WG1 FNAL Capabilities
Remote Handling/Hot Cell • Although we have quite a bit of experience with handling highly activated components (100 R/hr range) for transport and installation, we do not have much experience with truly remote repair or high precision assembly work • Hot cell just completed in new C-0 Remote Handling Facility • Transport Cask/Storage Bay system for handling large (4-8 m2) PASI 2013 WG1 FNAL Capabilities
