  3. Matriculation Process • By now you should have: • Submitted an application (paper or online) • Submitted a signed principal/parent consent form listing the courses you are interested in. If you believe your paperwork is incomplete please make sure you call Valerie at (415) 550-4422. If you have incomplete paperwork in your folder you must check-in with Connie, Warren or Valerie today.

  4. Review of Folder Contents • CCSF ID # located on the front cover • Processing-ck email (Paper application) • Sign and Return Application • Consent form missing • Copy of your parent/principal consent form • Ocean Campus Map • 2 Blank Add forms, 1 for today, 1 for next week. (Additional Copies on the Form table) • *If you didn’t receive a folder we did not receive paperwork from you. Check in with our staff today!

  5. Important College Terms and Policies

  6. ADDING A CLASS • No one has been officially enrolled in a class. To enroll in a class you will need to ADD the class. • You should: • Attend the FIRST class meeting to see if there is a seat available for you. • Bring with you a “Special H.S. Add form” (Add forms are in your folder and additional copies available in Conlan Hall 107) • Wait for the instructor to take attendance and when they ask who would like to add- raise your hand! • If there is space in the class the instructor will give you an add sticker to place on your form.

  7. Adding a class (Cont’d) • Complete the Special H.S. ADD/DROP form (check the add box and be sure to include your student id#) then: • Submit the form to Admissions and Records in Conlan Hall 107 at the Ocean Campus • The class you are adding must be listed on your principal consent form. If it is not you will need to submit a new principal consent form to Admissions and Records in Conlan 107.(*Class on Add form and consent form should match) • Our staff will visit each of the classes in our program of study to facilitate the add process for you.

  8. DROPPING A CLASS • Ifyou need to drop a class you do not want, you will need to do so prior to the drop deadline. If you drop your class before the deadline: February 10th, no record will appear on your transcript. *Note: Do not expect that the instructor will drop you if you stop going to class or never show up. It is your responsibility to drop the class. If you forget to do so you may receive an "F" in the course.

  9. How to Drop a Class • Complete a Special H.S. ADD/DROP form, with your student id# on it and check the Drop box • Submit the form to Admissions and Records in Conlan Hall 107 at the Ocean Campus • * All add/drop forms need to go to Conlan 107, do not give them to your instructor or deliver them to any other office. If you’re having trouble submitting your form, contact Valerie, Warren, or Connie.

  10. DROP Deadline • ***The last day to DROP a course is ____________________??? • Please do not just stop attending classes without formally dropping or withdrawing from the course. Doing so will result in you getting an “F”. • If you are struggling to keep up or can no longer make the class meetings contact Connie, Warren, or Valerie immediately.

  11. PASS/NO PASS GRADING • Instead of receiving a letter grade in a course, you will be assigned a P for Pass or NP for No Pass, which will appear on your transcript. Consult with your syllabus to determine if P/NP grading is available for your course. * To sign up for Pass/No Pass grading you must complete a “Pass/No Pass Grading Request Form” by February 22nd. Forms are available in Conlan Hall 107 or on our forms table today.

  12. WITHDRAWING FROM A CLASS • If you need to drop a class after the drop deadline (Feb. 10th) you are only allowed to Withdraw from the course. • It is important to note that withdrawing from a class after the drop period will result in a notation of W on the student's transcript. A notation of W does not affect the student's GPA, but too many W’s are discouraged.

  13. Withdrawing from a class (Cont’d) • To Withdraw from a class between February 11th and April 21st • Complete a “Special H.S. Add/Drop Form”, check withdraw and submit to Conlan 107. • To Withdraw from a class after April 21st, you will need to petition for withdrawal (granted for serious and compelling reasons only) • Contact Valerie for assistance.

  14. Important Dates • Spring Classes at City College begin on Tuesday, January 18th • The last day to ADD a course is Wednesday, February 2nd • The last day to DROP a course without a “W” is Thursday, February 10th • The last day to request Pass/No Pass grading isTuesday, February 22nd. • Final exam schedule: your final exams may not be given at the same time as you have been attending class all semester! 25. Balancing your time as a Dually Enrolled Student • Do not procrastinate!
