What are Verbs? • A verb is a word that tells what people or things do. Verbs are words that show action. drove dance jumping talking
Can you show action? Activity: • Volunteers act out an action using a yardstick. Be creative! What could it be? • Type a sentence (on the next slide) that shows the action being acted out. • Class identify the verb in the sentence, and circle it using the pen tools. Examples: Shyra planted a tree. Billy swings the golf club.
