Generally, they implement environmentally conscious design, policy, and technology to improve conservation and sustainability.

  21. Green jobs can be broadly defined as jobs that involve protecting wildlife or ecosystems, reducing pollution or waste, or reducing energy usage and lowering carbon emissions. Rutgers

According to The Center for American Progress Green Recovery Green Jobs will: Create 2 million new jobs nationwide over two years Reduce the unemployment rate Bolster employment especially in construction and manufacturing Provide opportunities to rebuild career ladders through training, retraining and workforce development Help lower oil prices Contribute to the reconstruction of local communities and public infrastructure all across America, setting us on a course for a long-term transition to a low-carbon economy that increases our energy independence and helps fight global warming.
