  2. When & Why were the dolls created? The dolls were created in 1770 by Pierre Jaquet-Dorz and Henri-Louis Jaquet-Dorz. They started making the dolls for European royalty. They were known to be some of the first working robots. Each of them having a unique ability. You can still see them today at the museum of Art and History in Switzerland.

  3. How were the three dolls created? • The doll with the unique technique of writing has an input device to set tabs that form a programmable memory. 40 cams that represent the read only program and the quill pen for output. • Apparently this was how it worked for all three dolls, using gears and gadgets. Since they were created during the mechanical period.

  4. Abilities • One of the other unique functions the doll does is write. It can write text that is 40 letters long, he writes with an ink pen and from time to time he gets more ink. Actually, turning the head to get more ink for the quill pen. As the doll writes, it moves its eyes as it writes the text. • Another function, was a doll that could play the organ. The music is not faked, the doll is actually pressing the keys and it plays a genuine tune. The doll actually follows her fingers with her head and eyes. You can also see her chest move in and out, like she is actually breathing. • The last function is a doll that actually draws pictures. The doll is able to draw four pictures a portrait of Louis XV, a dog with “Mon toutou”, a royal couple, and a cupid driving a chariot pulled by a butterfly. He also watches his hand move with his eyes and head.

  5. Pictures The three dolls, in there cases in the museum in Switzerland. This is the writer who actually watches what he writes, moving his eyes back and forth. This is the female musician that is really playing music on the organ. These are two of the four drawings that the drawer drew. This is the drawer, who periodically moves in his chair, and at times he blows dust off his pencil.
