Cambridge ESOL Level 4 Certificate in Teaching English to Speakers of other languages – CELTA (module 1) 120 guided learning hours. Assessment is by written assignments and assessed teaching practise. An initial qualification, is suitable for those with little or no teaching experience. Successful candidates will gain a FENTO approved initial qualification at level 4, but will require further training once employed in FE or Adult Ed. Fridays all day for 18 weeks. Start date: September 2005 Fees: £600 City & Guilds Level 4 Certificate for ESOL Subject Specialists (9488) 120 guided learning hours. Assessment is by written assignments and assessed teaching practice. This course is suitable for practising ESOL teachers who have completed or plan to complete a separate Certificate in Education (PGCE). Successful candidates will meet FENTO requirements for qualification in subject knowledge at level 4. Mondays – afternoon & early evening. 5-6 hrs per week for 20 weeks. Start date: January 17th 2005 Fees: £245* *Possible fee waiver – please enquire City & Guilds Level 3 Certificate in ESOL Subject Support (9487) 90 guided learning hours. Assessment is by portfolio evidence and written assignments. This course is suitable for ESOL workshop assistants and those supporting or planning to support ESOL learners in the classroom. Successful candidates will meet FENTO requirements for ESOL learner support at level 3. Wednesday afternoons 4 hrs per week for 20 weeks. Start date: January 19th 2005 Fees: t.b.a* *Possible fee waiver – please enquire ESOL teacher training at Bromley College 2005 Cambridge ESOL (module 2) Certificate in Further Education Teaching Stage 3 (TESOL) for ESOL Subject Specialists 180 guided learning hours. Assessment is by written assignments and assessed teaching practise. This course combines teaching and subject knowledge and is suitable for practising ESOL teachers who have an initial teaching qualification (CELTA or equivalent), but who need to complete a Cert Ed/PGCE and an ESOL subject qualification. Successful candidates will meet FENTO requirements for both an FE teaching qualification and ESOL subject knowledge at level 4. One day per week for 30 weeks.
