For a small app running on a PCit can connect to data server without requiring every user to have anaccount on the server. • Printer $ • Shared %systemroot%\System32\Spool\Drivers Folder AhmadNiroomand@gmail.com

  14. Simple 3 Permissions AhmadNiroomand@gmail.com

  15. Notes • Shared permissions apply only to access over the network. • Centralizing. • These permissions have absolutely nothing to do with the underlying file system which is why NTFS permissions are preferred. • If you have a mixture of shared permissions and NTFS permissions on the same folder : • Trubleshoting access control issiues becomes more difficult. AhmadNiroomand@gmail.com

  16. Notes • Use either shared permissions or NTFS permissions, not both. • If you deny a shared folder permission to a user, the user won’t have that permission, even if you allow the permission for a group of witch the user is a member. • Offer for trouble shooting access control: • Shared Permissions: “ every one group =~ Allow change” • NTFS Permissions: “ depended” AhmadNiroomand@gmail.com

  17. Question time • 1- Because you use NTFS permission to specify witch users and groups can access files and folders and what these permissions allow users to do with the contents of the files or folder, why do you need to shared a folder or used shared folder permission? NTFS permissions do not make folder available over the network.( only way=shared permissions) they can be used on fat or fat32 partitions.(NTFS available just on NTFS volumed. AhmadNiroomand@gmail.com

  18. Question time • ----------- ( denied/Allowed )permissions take precedence over ----------- ( denied/Allowed ) permissions on a shared folder. D - A • When you copy a shared folder, the folder is ----------- ( no longer shared/still shared ) and the copy ---------- ( no longer shared/still shared ) and the move is ---------- ( no longer shared/still shared ). S – N – N • When you rename a shared folder, the folders is ---------- ( no longer shared/still shared ). N AhmadNiroomand@gmail.com

  19. Shared Application Folder • Centralizing. • Assign the Administrator group the Full control permission for the application folder so that member of this group can manage the application software and control user permissions . • Remove the full control permission from the everyone group and assign Red permission to the user group . • Assign the Change permission to groups that are responsible for upgrading and troubleshooting applications.
