  17. Happy Database Searching Tips • Choose appropriate database • Simplify search words: 2 - 4 words to describe topic • Use the right search connectors • Not happy with results? Try other search words • Questions? Ask a librarian

New Rules for APA & MLA • MLA • Formats noted: print, web, etc. • URLs not required for web sites • APA • DOI for scholarly articles • Database not required in citation • Look up journal “homepage” • Because these rules are so new, it is wise to double check with any professor who is grading you! • Online article citation examples follow
