  10. Homework • Please sign your student’s agenda after checking that all their work is complete. Please sign it each day for the 1st trimester. • Homework in 5th grade should be about 1 ½ hours long, which includes 20 – 30 minutes of reading. • Late homework will be accepted one day late, and will be marked down a ten percentage points. Students are responsible for turning it in. I will not ask for missed assignments. • Students who are sick are given extensions for missed class work depending on how many days have been missed and the nature of their illness. Typically, one day is granted for each day of school the student is absent. • Please read the handbook regarding collecting work for your student when they are sick or ahead of time for out of town trips.

  11. Communication • I check email before school, at lunch, after school, and before I leave for the day. I usually leave between 4:45 and 5:00 (but may leave earlier if I have a meeting or appointment). • It’s always best to schedule an appointment rather than just stopping in, so I can assure that you get my full time and attention. • I update my teacher page Monday afternoon. Please make it a habit to visit the site. • Aeries/Grades • Please call the office with urgent messages.

  12. Miscellaneous • Birthdays • University of Valdez • Volunteers
