  4. Mindset • Mindset is your belief about your abilities • Creates your mental world • Fixed mindset –intelligence and ability cannot change • Flexible mindset –intelligence and ability can develop • Your behaviour depends on the mindset you adopt

  6. Developing a flexible mindset Step 1: Possible or impossible? Consider the 6 questions on your handout. Remember times you have seen someone learn to do something you never thought this person could do or is even possible, and to reflect upon how this happened and what it means.

  7. Developing a flexible mindset Step 2: Message from the past Write a short card to a person next to you about how abilities can be developed, with examples of how you yourself have dealt with some difficulties in the past or how you yourself became good at something you were first bad at.

  8. Developing a flexible mindset Step 3: If anything was possible… Tell a person next to you five-ten things you would like to learn. Think broadly. It can be anything, from dance, music, art to technology, sport or travel.
