Geneva UAS Health field • Teaching staff : • Professors (13 and 6 in nursing field ) • Lecturers (100 and 50 in nursing) • Probationary lecturers (13 and 5 in nursing) • More than half work part time • 2 computer technicians, a librarian and one technician, a person responsible for the practical training rooms and some secretaries

Nursing Bachelor programme Admission in the nursing programme : • After one year of the preparatory programme for candidates with : • General baccalaureate - 50% • 30% candidates from Switzerland • 20% from principally Europe and Africa, … • General educational certificate - 40% • Directly for candidates with : • Vocational baccalaureate - 3% • Specialized baccalaureate - 7%

Nursing Bachelor programme • The year of the preparatory programme • 22 weeks for theoretical training • 11 weeks for clinical training • 5 weeks for seminars or examinations • Total : 1520 hours • Pedagogy by a reference system of 6 professional competencies • Theoretical and clinical alternate teaching • 7 training subjects, every training modules must be validated.

  9. Nursing Bachelor programme • European regulations • 180 ECTS and 3 years : 2900 hours • Six semesters of 30 ECTS • 1 semester = 16 weeks = 4 theoretical modules and 1 clinical module • 1 module = between 5 and 10 ECTS with 1 possibility to redo

  10. Nursing Bachelor programme • Six clinical training periods (one per semester) • Theoretical training 60% / clinical training 40% • Nursing professional competences reference : 9 • International and national mobility possible during the fourth semester

Nursing Bachelor programme Clinical training periods • Students are supervised by practising nurses (CAS : practising trainers) during care and cure in situ • They take place in : • University Hospital of Geneva, other hospitals • Private hospitals • Community services like : • Home care, school health services, old peoples’ homes.Encadrées par des infirmiers praticiens dans le milieu de soins
