  1. Instructions for the Spin & Speak Leaders Project Description: This project is very popular with students and parents! Have your class research American leaders, make their own Spin & Speak person for one or more of the heroes, then write important facts, quotes and accomplishments inside the mouth of the hero! Templates included; Clara Barton, Booker T. Washington, John Hancock, Amelia Earhart, Florence Nightingale, Ceasar Chavez, Paul Revere, Teddy Roosevelt, Benjamin Banneker, Susan B. Anthony, Robert Fulton, Thurgood Marshall, Henrietta King! For extra impact you can put them all together in a class book or have each child put their own book together! Materials: • File folders • Construction paper • Brads • Googly Eyes • Templates Cut out the templates and trace them onto card stock. Have students use the indicated colored construction paper to trace the templates and glue them onto shape # 1. Then use a brad to attach it to shape # 2. Add googly eyes if desired, then have the students write their facts onto shape # 2. If making a book, tape file folders together and color backgrounds to match the heroes. As a bonus students can use the last page to make a Spin & Speak of themselves! Write facts here! It spins! Step 1 #2 #1
