  3. Tale of Turin Turambar • Turin to be raised by Thingol • Banishes himself for killing Saeros • As leader of bandits, runs across Mim • Beleg fights along side Turin • Mim betrays him, Turin betrayed • Beleg rescues Turin but is killed • Beleg meets Gwindor, escaped from Morgoth

Tale of Turin Turambar • Gwindor takes Turin to Nargothrond • N invaded, Turin fights Glaurung • Held captive by Glaurung’s eyes • Doesn’t rescue Finduilas • Nienor’s encounter with Glaurung • Loses her memory • Turin rescues Nienor, renamed Niniel • Turin and Niniel are married • Turin kills Glaurung, Niniel/Nienor released from spell, kills herself, Anglachel kills Turin

Tale of Tuor • Talks to Ulmo • Delivers message to King of Gondolin, Fingon • Lives in Gondolin, falls in love with Idril • Maeglin also in love with Idril • Maeglin captured, gives up secret of how to get to Gondolin • Glorfindel fights Balrog and dies • Idril and Tuor have secret escape route • Son Earendil, marries Dior’s daughter, Elwing

  6. Tale of Hurin • Captured at 5th Battle • Held for 28 years • Released when Turin died • Kills Mim • Goes to Narthrond • Takes the Nauglamir to Thingol

  7. Tale of Earendil • Battle in MiddleEarth • Sails to Valinor to plead for two kindred • Takes Silmaril in Nauglamir • With Silmaril on brow, becomes morning star • Bilbo writes a poem about him

The Silmarils • Thingol has it put in Nauglamir • Dwarves steal Nauglamir + Silmaril • Mablung gets killed, Beren gets N&S • Luthien wears N&S • Sent to Dior when Beren and Luthien die • Elwing gets it, Earendil wears it • Earendil takes it across to Tol Eressea • Earendil sails the skies with Silmaril • Light from Silmaril of Earendil is captured by Galadriel into the Phial

  15. The Silmarils • War of Wrath • Morgoth defeated, Silmarils taken back • Maedhros and Maglor steal Silmarils and split them • Maedhros into volcano, Maglor casts his into the sea
