  2. MaldivInfo 1.0 • The development of the MaldivInfo 1.0 began in June 2006, which is an adopted Version of the DevInfo Software. • MaldivInfo, is the Maldives national database of human development indicators. • MaldivInfo is developed as a national data dissemination tool.

  3. Maldivinfo 2.0 • No. of indicators available in Maldivinfo 2.0 from Censuses • 1990 (27 indicators) • 1995 (25 indicators) • 2000 (53 indicators) • 2006 (98 indicators) • 13 MDG indicators up to island level are available from four Census (1990, 1995, 2000, 2006).

Maldivinfo a data dissemination tool • Awareness workshop targeted to the Maldivian Media Officials • focusing on how they could get the relevant information needed for news and media from MaldivInfo. • Developing Training of Trainers • Government officials were trained to adopt there own localized versions. • Included a module in the Basic Statistics Course in the islands. • Provided Trainings on Request to different offices • Programs/ Events • Maldivinfo was introduced in different occasions (World statisitcs day, World population day etc.) • Maldivinfo was introduced to schools and Colleges

Major constraints faced by the Programme • Low response and commitment from the responsible line ministries for the customization process • Quick turnover of the trained staff in the DevInfo technology from the government offices • Slow adoption of the software as a common platform for data management, search and dissemination • Technical difficulties in composing the database
